AFC FLAG FOOTBALL
THE AVERAGE PRACTICE
This SPRING season, our teams will practice on Monday, Tuesday, OR Thursday (one day per week). The average practice goes something like this:
-
Stretching for 7 to 10 minutes
-
For the next 40 minutes or so, the players break into their teams, led by various coaches, to go over fundamentals—receiver stance, scanning the defense, hands drills, route running, taking a hand-off, giving a handoff, QB skills, defensive stance, footwork, scanning the offense, flag pulling, avoiding a flag pull, and more
-
Because we believe that Christ should be the center of our lives, we take a water break at the mid-point of practice and do an 8 to 10-minute devotional that focuses the players on living out their faith in the Lord
-
After the water-break/devotional, we continue our practice. Drills continue and simulation, or intrasquad, games are played
-
Practice ends with all players gathered in a huddle to do the AFC chant
